Shannon Greenley: Inner Harbour Operations Manager at GVHA

Shannon has more than 10 years working in the marine industry and four years experience managing and coordinating dock operations in Victoria’s Inner Harbour. Shannon joined GVHA as the Dock Operations Coordinator and within a short time progressed to the role of operations manager.

After moving from southern Ontario to Vancouver Island in 2006, Shannon began working on commercial trawl vessels as an at-sea observer for Archipelago Marine Research Ltd., a third-party organization carrying out fisheries bylaws surrounding fisheries monitoring compliance for almost three years. She them moved on to be Port Supervisor in Port Hardy for Archipelago where she led offload monitoring on various docks in that port. In 2009 Shannon relocated to Archipelago’s main office in Victoria where she spent the next several years as Deployment Coordinator for at-sea observer trips and Data processing/analysis for dockside offload events.

After leaving Archipelago and prior to joining GVHA, Shannon spent a couple of years gardening and landscaping in Victoria for the first time in many years drawing from her Horticulture and Landscape Construction education and previous career in Ontario.

At GVHA, Shannon oversees all dock operations in the Inner Harbour which includes; long and short term moorage agreements, OHS committee policies and procedures, seasonal marina staff onboarding, managing marina and reservation software, budget forecasting, Marina Rules and Regulation compliance, liaising with harbour operators, government and municipal stakeholders, recreational, commercial and mega yacht boaters.
