World Water Day
In 2016, GVHA upgraded to a battery powered washing unit that captures and reuses 95% of the water used to wash our buses. Any wash water that goes onto the ground goes into a catch basin and is processed.
Prior to using this new system, our entire bus fleet would have to be driven to central Saanich (the closest bus wash) at least once a week to be washed.
Since we’ve made this upgrade, our buses have taken 2,392 LESS trips through the community (that’s 133,952 km)!
That’s a lot less fuel used!
