World Ocean Day
As responsible stewards of Victoria’s harbour, we are actively collaborating with our partners on environmental initiatives.
In partnership with Eagle Wing Tours for ten years, the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority have been celebrating the sustainable growth of Victoria’s harbour through the World Ocean Day annual event at Fisherman’s Wharf. It takes place a few days after World Ocean Day and at the end of Ocean Week Victoria, and is a fun, free, family-friendly gathering that brings together a variety of conservation organizations from around the Salish Sea.
Fundraising for an environmental cause – the seabin at Fisherman’s Wharf – was part of the event in years past. Over $3,281 was raised from community contributions to install a seabin in its current location.
