Employee Profile: Tereza Ticha

Tereza Ticha is the Events Coordinator at GVHA.

As Events Coordinator, Tereza permits Inner Harbour and Ship Point events throughout the year. She works with external event coordinators to ensure things run smoothly during some of the biggest festivals and public celebrations of the year, such as the Dragon Boat Festival, Symphony Splash, and Classic Boat Festival. Tereza also oversees the Inner Harbour Summer Line Up on Lower Causeway, a celebration of street performers, musicians, artisans, and food vendors that bring the space to life each day from May through September. In addition, she is responsible for GVHA-led events such as World Oceans Day at Fisherman’s Wharf, Clean Up The Shores with Vic PD, and the annual Marina Light Up Kick-off.

With more than 15 years of experience, Tereza has been exposed to the many facets of tourism and event management. She is extroverted and loves the people and engagement aspects of her job. Over the course of her career, she has been fortunate to meet many interesting personalities, such as former President Jacques Chirac (France) and former President Aleksander Kwasniewski (Polish).

Shortly before completing her Masters in English as a Second Language and Fine Arts, Tereza started working for a municipal tourism offices in her native country of the Czech Republic where she developed marketing strategies, managed international trade shows and coordinated foreign press visits. After moving to Victoria in 2009, she worked in retail management, she began with GVHA in May 2016 as the Events Coordinator.

She is a valued member of the team and on most days is the most exuberant person in the office.
